Auditors lodged a complaint with Deccan Police Station for alleged misappropriation of Rs 73 crore from Shivajirao Bhosale Co-op Bank



A complaint has been lodged with the Deccan Police Station for alleged misappropriation of Rs 73 crore from Shivajirao Bhosale Co-operative Bank. Further action will be taken to probe the relevant application in this regard, Deccan police said.

Shivajirao Bhosale co-operative commissioner Satish Soni had directed the bank's statutory auditor to file a complaint with the police for alleged misappropriation of Rs 73 crore from the co-operative bank. The auditor of Torvi Pethe & Company was appointed to conduct a statutory audit of the bank. The Reserve Bank had directed the bank to verify the cash balance of the bank. At that time, around Rs 73 crore was found short in the bank's cash balance check. The audit noted that financial mismanagement was due to misappropriation of this cash amount. In this regard, the Assistant Commissioner had directed the police to file a complaint against the person responsible for the abduction. Accordingly, auditors have reported the Deccan police station.

When asked about the Deccan police, they have received an application to the police station in this regard. Further action will be taken to verify this application, he said. So, "the auditors have lodged a complaint with the police station. After the matter has come to our department, they will be investigated," said Sambhaji Kadam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Economic and Cyber ​​Crime Branch.
